Veritas Cabinet Scraper

A little dusty, but it's new, never used.

#80 pattern cabinet scraper. Ideal for finish scraping table tops and other larger flat surfaces. If you've never used one, you can cover a very large surface area easily, including those with complex grain which are liable to tear-out if you try planing them, or which end up looking dull if you sand them. If you work with veneers you'll also appreciate this tool for its ability to remove super thin shavings to clear any joint and glue-up lines without risking cutting through a thin veneer. You can also purchase a toothed blade, allowing you quickly prepare substrates for the application of veneer glue. A versatile tool in any cabinet shop.

The blade is very high quality, holding an edge for longer than even the best of the vintage Stanley's and as it's retained more securely there is also less change of chatter while it's scraping. The brass adjusters are also a great improvement, allowing quick adjustment to fine tune the cut. A top tool.

This is made of cast ductile cast iron so it's much more robust than the vintage types. It will stand up to a lot of use and should last more than a lifetime. Can you tell I like it? No matter, it's still for sale!

Can be sharpened using wet stones, diamond stones or for the quickest cleanup, using a jointer filing guide (see my other adverts!)
